The Brazilian acquirer, which Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Hypercom declined to name, is buying 22,000 Optimum T4205 countertop devices. Hypercom would not disclose terms of the deal.

This order closely follows one that Brazil-based acquirer Cielo S.A. placed for 30,000 terminals in September (see story).

Ecuador-based payment processor Datafast CIA Ltda. is buying a mix of Optimum T4200 countertop and M4200 mobile POS terminals for a total of 4,500 devices. Hypercom says it is replacing Datafast’s previous vendor, which it declined to name.

Datafast’s website lists San Jose, Calif.-based VeriFone Systems Inc., Hong Kong-based Spectra Technologies and Hypercom as providers of terminals for its merchants.

Colombia-based MST Multisoft S.A., a Hypercom distributor, is handling the merchant installations for Datafast, Hypercom says.
