Some 83% of consumers in the United Kingdom are comfortable shopping at kiosks and vending machines, suggest survey data from France-based terminal vendor Ingenico SA.  The vendor surveyed 1,000 UK consumers. The consumers appear reluctant, however, to spend large amounts at vending machines. Though 66% of respondents said they are comfortable paying up to 2 UK pounds (US$3 or 2.40 euros) for vending-machine purchases, only 1% would spend more than 10 UK pounds, Ingenico says in a statement. Nearly 35% of survey respondents said they would use debit or credit cards to make purchases from vending machines, though coins remained the most-popular way to pay for such purchases. Drinks and snacks are the most-common vending-machine purchases, though almost 25% of respondents said they are comfortable buying such items as batteries, film and memory cards from vending machines.
