YESpay International Ltd., a British payment-services and processing company, this week announced it was expanding its presence in Canada as issuers and merchants there work to migrate the country's magnetic stripe card base to chip cards that support the global EMV antifraud standard. The processor says it has opened an "sales and support office" and data center in Toronto that will focus on selling card services to "local … acquirers and merchants," according to a statement. The firm also said it would work with Chase Paymentech LLC, JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s merchant-processing unit, to sell card-payment services to Canadian merchants.
