USA Technologies Expands Board, Names Chief Services Officer

USA Technologies in Malvern, Pa., has added a new member to its board of directors and selected a new chief services officer.

The company named Robert Metzger, 48, to its board, expanding the group's size to seven members. Metzger has worked as a faculty member for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's College of Business, serving as the director of the Investment Banking Academy and as a lecturer for the Department of Finance.

Metzger is also a member of the board at Wage Works. He previously served as a partner at William Blair & Co. from 2005 to 2015, heading up its technology and financial services investment banking groups and acting as chairman of the company's audit committee.

The payment technology service provider also said Monday that it promoted Michael Lawlor, 54, to the role of chief services officer. Lawlor replaced Dave DeMedio, who left the company last year. Prior to his promotion, Lawlor had served as senior vice president of sales and business development.

In his new role, Lawlor will oversee the growth of the company's ePort Connect services.
