The telecom will use Payware Wynid, VeriFone's managed services software, as well as helpdesk support and PIN acceptance devices that support electronic transactions.

VeriFone's VX 820 PIN pads will allow Reseau Clubs Bouygues Telecom to produce targeted promotional messages to customers during checkout through the mobile devices' touch screen. Payware Wynid will consolidate and route all electronic payments made at each of Reseau Clubs Bouygues Telecom's 400 retail stores through a single gateway that utilizes VeriFone's encryption and tokenization services.
The deal gives VeriFone a new client in rival Ingenico's backyard as VeriFone continues to recover from its slump over the past year.

"Reseau Club Bouygues Telecom will be able to enjoy all the benefits of having a state-of-the-art local payments infrastructure in place across its entire retail store network," says Vincent Roland, vice president and general manager for VeriFone France, in a Nov. 19 press release. "These benefits include improved security and consolidated payment reporting capabilities that mitigate the complexities often associated with payment system management."
