Visa Ready enables sharing among developers by easing access to software tools. It also includes an approval process that verifies that a payment technology is adhering to the card network's best practices.

For mobile point of sale technology, Visa Ready sets requirements and provides software tools for magnetic stripe, EMV-chip and contactless payments. It also provides documentation to guide companies through approval process.

Visa had previously selected Swiff, along with iZettle and SumUp, to join the Visa Ready program as a mobile point of sale development partner.

"Both Swiff's hardware and software have been approved by Visa to ensure the solution meets all quality and metrics for mobile payment acceptance," says Etienne van den Bogaert, Swiff's CTO, in a press release.
