Dublin, Ireland-based Zapa Technology, which supports Near Field Communication and other contactless technology, has been building a merchant customer base primarily in Ireland and the United Kingdom by offering managed services for mobile loyalty, coupons and payments through Vivoplatform and Vivoapps software, the companies note in a news release. The services enable retailers to deliver instant rewards and savings to their customers at the time of purchase.

Vivotech’s technology is helping Zapa to distribute its mobile-commerce service to its more than 100,000 contactless Zapa Tag cardholders, Mohammad Khan, president and founder of Silicon Valley, Calif.-based Vivotech, a market leader in contactless card and NFC-payment software, said in the release.

With Vivotech’s help, Zapa’s commercial service will enable consumers to download their loyalty card, payment card or coupon information to their phones, John Nagle, Zapa CEO, noted in the release.
