Payments processor VocaLink Tuesday announced it received an investment of 60 million British pounds (US$90 million or 67 million euros) in equity capital from its shareholders to expand its European operations. "This investment will give us the opportunity to improve our services while enabling us to continue providing reliable and trusted support for our clients in difficult economic times," Richard Hooper, acting chairman of United Kingdom-based VocaLink, says in a statement. VocaLink is responsible for providing support for the UK's Faster Payments Service, which provides quick phone and online funds transfers. The service launched last year. "Our exemplary track record in the payment-transactions business has given our shareholders the faith to invest in our future," Marion King, VocaLink CEO, also says in a statement.
