Westpac Places Order For 15,000 Hypercom Terminals

Westpac Banking Corp. is deploying 15,000 Hypercom Corp. Optimum-branded point-of-sale terminals as part of a $50 million deal the two companies announced last year (see story), Hypercom announced Oct. 5.

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Hypercom says the terminals—including T4210, T4220, T4230 and M4230 models—are shipping now.

Westpac also is using ACG Group Pty Ltd., a Hypercom subsidiary, to service the bank’s 80,000 POS terminals merchants already in use, a move that began in the last two months.

Hypercom says ACG’s services include loading software onto terminals, installation and technical support.
