WEX rolls out combo fuel card for truck stops, convenience stores

Fleet card provider WEX has introduced its first proprietary fuel card enabling fleet drivers to make purchases at both truck stops and convenience stores to expand shopping options, whether they’re filling their tanks with unleaded or diesel fuel.

WEX’s Cross Roads solution is the South Portland, Maine-based company’s first closed-loop card to serve merchants selling all types of fuel that also supports the company’s various expense-management and controls to track fleet spending regardless of vehicle type on a single bill, according to a Tuesday press release.

“Gone are the days of using multiple cars for retail fueling and truck stop fueling,” said Bernie Kavanagh, WEX’s senior vice president and general manager of large fleets, in the release.
