Wincor Nixdorf AG last week announced it has purchased 51% of
Bankberatung Organisation, which provides information technology consulting services to banks, Andreas Bruck, company spokesperson, tells ATM&Debit News.
The deal enables Wincor Nixdorf, the world's second-largest ATM manufacturer based on 2007 shipments, to offer banks a range of merchandise and services that includes ATMs, software, consulting, hardware, software platform services and process design. All of the services affect banks' operations from the front end to
the back end, Bruck says.
Bankberatung Organisation's main activities include banking analysis, design and optimization of the transaction banking processes, bank management, and the migration of banking applications.
Bankberatung Organisation, also known as Bankeratung AG, is based in Wedemark,
Germany. It was founded in 1988 and employs more than 50 people. During the 2007 fiscal year, the company reported revenues of more than 11 million euros ( $15.5 million). Ulrich Fichte, who founded Bankberatung, will remain CEO.
"I am pleased that, in Wincor Nixdorf, we have found a partner with a portfolio that offers us a perfect fit for our range of services," Fichte said in a statement.
The agreement moves Wincor Nixdorf closer to its goal of providing banking clients an extended array of services from a single source, says Stefan Auerbach, a Wincor Nixdorf board member responsible for the company's banking business.
Paderborn, Germany-based Wincor Nixdorf did not disclose the amount of its investment in Bankeratung AG.
