Germany-based Wincor Nixdorf AG and Penki Kontinental Group, an information-technology firm based in Lithuania, have signed a partnership-expansion agreement. Penki Kontinental will market Wincor Nixdorf information-technology products such as payment terminal software to retailers in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, both companies said this week in a statement. Penki Kontinental earlier signed an agreement to market Wincor Nixdorf's technology to banks in the Baltic States. Wincor Nixdorf is the world's second-largest manufacturer of ATMs based on 2007 shipments, according to Retail Banking Research, a London-based strategic consulting firm. Penki Kontinental now is offering Wincor Nixdorf's technology to financial institutions in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. In addition, Penki Kontinental will handle sales of Wincor Nixdorf's products for retailers in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, the companies say.
