Startup Simple lets smartphone-only customers attach images to their transactions. Since launching in February, users are uploading much more than pictures of receipts. At the recent SourceMedia Mobile Banking & Commerce Summit, Co-Founder and CFO Shamir Karkal told attendees that Simple customers are shooting images of food and special events through the app, including a couple holding up their wedding certificates.

JPMorgan Chase

Small business cardholders in the bank's Ink program can use the New York bank's mobile app Jot to capture receipts on the fly. The functionality helps small business owners match receipts with customers and projects.

The Lemon Wallet lets consumers store digital copies of their physical cards - ID cards, payment cards, etc. - by snapping photos of the plastic. The app also lets consumers capture images of their receipts.
