Consumer bankers hire MNC exec as counsel.

WASHINGTON -- The Consumer Bankers Association has appointed Steven I. Zeisel general counsel.

Mr. Zeisel joins the Arlington, Va.-based trade group from MNC Financial Inc., Baltimore, where he was a vice president and counsel. He worked for Equitable Bancorp. before its acquisition by MNC.

Mr. Zeisel also spent five years as an attorney in the Federal Reserve Board's consumer and community affairs division.

The association's top legal spot had been open since last November, when longtime general counsel Craig Ulrich was killed in a tree-cutting accident.
