Credit of 3 big French banks downgraded.

LONDON - IBCA Ltd., the European credit ratingagency, said it has downgraded the ratings of three major French banks: Banque Nationale de Paris, Credit Lyonnais, and Banque Paribas.

Banque Nationale de Paris' long-term rating was lowered to AA from AA-plus, while its short-term rating remained unchanged at Al-plus.

The long-term credit ratings of both Credit Lyonnais and Banque Paribas were lowered to A-plus from AA-minus, and their short-term ratings to Al from Al-plus.
