Star Hires Former Society Executive As President of Cleveland Region

Cleveland region. Mr. Knisely had most recently been senior vice president and division manager in the commercial lending group at Cleveland-based Society National Bank, now part of Keycorp. He was responsible for a major segment of Society's middle-market lending in greater Cleveland. At Star he has succeeded Gregory W. Edwards, who was named head of Star Banc Corp.'s private banking division, based in Cincinnati. Star Bank also named Clark A. Rechkemmer, former Cleveland president, as senior vice president and senior credit officer in northeast Ohio. Mr. Knisely reports to Andrew Randall, named in March as executive vice president of Star Banc Corp. and regional chairman for Star Bank in northeast Ohio. Before joining Society, Mr. Knisely had held senior management posts at Ameritrust Corp., Cleveland, from 1982 to 1992. Society acquired Ameritrust in April 1992. Earlier, he had spent 10 years at Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Co., Chicago.
