Visa's Screen Phone Takes Top Honors

Visa Interactive was honored last week by the Interactive Services Association for its development of software for the screen-based telephone.

Visa Interactive, the remote banking arm of Visa International, was awarded Best Application for a Screen Telephone during the Interactive Services Association's conference in Boston.

The group cited Visa Interactive's software as the best for allowing consumers to "quickly, easily, and securely pay their bills, verify account balances, and transfer funds" via the newly evolving screen-phone medium. The P+ smart telephone, made by US Order, is the first phone that will be installed with this home banking application.

Visa Interactive said it has enlisted 56 banks for its remote banking program, which will include services for the telephone, personal computer, and screen-based phone. Visa had just been testing these services with a few banks, and plans to roll them out this summer.
