New Chairman At Georgia's First National Of Gainesville

Richard L. Schockley, former president of First National of Gainesville, Ga., the city's oldest and largest financial institution, has been elected as its chairman.

He succeeded Richard A. McNeece as chairman. The bank's current president is Rich White.

Mr. Schockley joined First National in 1954 and was promoted to executive vice president of the bank in 1962. He was named to its board in 1966 and as its president and that of its holding company, First National Bancorp, in 1981. He is also a former vice chairman of the holding company.
