BT Financial Names Team of Presidents for Holding Company, Banks

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - BT Financial Corp. has appointed new senior management for the holding company and its three subsidiaries as it seeks to "position itself for the future."

The $1.1 billion-asset company named vice chairman Steven C. Ackmann, 44, as its president and chief operating officer. BT also named three men as presidents and chief operating officers of its Johnstown Bank and Trust Co., Laurel Bank, and Fayette Bank.

Mr. Ackmann joined BT in 1988 as senior vice president and head of the loan department at Fayette Bank. He came from First National Bank and Trust Co., Washington, Pa.

BT announced this year that it was studying ways to cut costs, boost income, and raise its stock price, possibly by closing some of its 62 branches or converting them to automated teller machines.

In September the company agreed to pay cash for Huntington Bancshares's Pennsylvania subsidiary, Huntington National Bank of Pennsylvania, with $115 million in assets.
