Tennessee Bank Picks a Chairman And a President

Bank of Tennessee, Kingsport, elected president Colon A. Terrell Jr. its chairman and chose executive vice president Roy L. Harmon Jr. to be its president and chief operating officer.

Mr. Terrell retains the title of chief executive officer of the 11- branch, locally owned bank in East Tennessee. Mr. Harmon also was added to the bank's board of directors.

Mr. Terrell started his banking career with C&S Bank in Atlanta under the late Mills Lane. He moved to Piedmont Bank in Davidson, N.C., and was president of Midsouth Bank, Sanford, N.C., before coming to Bank of Tennessee as president and CEO.

Mr. Harmon has worked at Bank of Tennessee since 1991. His responsibilities have included senior lending officer, and he is now responsible for all retail activity, nondeposit products, and operations.

Before joining Bank of Tennessee, he had been senior vice president of First American National Bank in Knoxville and Kingsport. He was controller, manager of loan administration, manager of business banking, and a lender in the real estate and commercial divisions.
