Statewide of N.J. Signs Raimonde As Senior VP for Retail Banking

Statewide Financial Corp., Jersey City, has hired Michael A. Raimonde to lead the newly created retail banking division of its Statewide Savings Bank.

The division was formed as part of the reorganization of the 16-branch operation. One goal is to move some small-business loan decisions to the branch level, and Mr. Raimonde will be responsible for implementing that policy and training employees.

Mr. Raimonde, who will be a senior vice president, held the same title at a Summit Bank branch in Maplewood, N.J. Before he joined Summit he was a branch manager and commercial lender with First Fidelity Bank in Cranford, N.J.; earlier he was manager of branch operations with Hudson City Savings Bank in Jersey City.

Statewide Financial has $703 million of assets.
