Tech Bytes: KeyBank Wins Big Postal Service Contract

The Postal Service named Cleveland-based KeyBank as its depository and cash management provider for more than 2,300 post offices in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and portions of Kentucky, Indiana, New Jersey, and West Virginia.

With total average deposits of about $340 million a month and transactions totaling $4 billion annually, the new relationship represents the largest single cash management contract ever awarded to $73 billion- asset KeyCorp.

The contract moves the Postal Service "closer to our goal of completing strategic relationships with a small number of banks," said its treasurer, Stephen M. Kearney.
