Tech Bytes: Encryption Firm Adds Program Member

The British-Irish data encryption company Baltimore Technologies said New York-based Neoteric Inc. has agreed to use its Internet commerce security systems for system integration and software consulting work in the financial services market.

Neoteric will rely on Baltimore Technologies' Unicert Certificate Authority system for digital authentication and its PKI-Plus developer tool kit for public key cryptography infrastructures.

And Neoteric becomes a member of the Baltimore TrustedWorld Partner Program. Neoteric sees the PKI technology as "essential for all our clients who want to leverage their Net economy initiatives to the utmost," said managing director Terrence McCarthy. "By integrating Unicert into our product offerings, we can ensure that we are delivering a highly secure and scalable e-business solution."

Separately, Baltimore said it has released W/Secure, a version of encryption security and authentication for wireless communication devices. The first customer is Apion, a Northern Ireland supplier of wireless Internet infrastructure technology.
