Mellon Custody Unit Is Opened in Ireland

Mellon Bank Corp. of Pittsburgh has unveiled an expanded mutual fund servicing unit in Dublin.

Mellon Trustees (Dublin) Ltd. will offer custody services to offshore mutual funds domiciled in Ireland, said Dan Wywoda, head of international trust services. The new unit, introduced last week, augments the company's fund accounting and transfer agency business.

The banking company, which manages more than $390 billion of assets, administers nearly $4 billion for eight offshore clients in Ireland, Mr. Wywoda said.
