Mitek Systems Inc. said Tuesday that at least 10 new clients adopted its mobile check-capture software last quarter.
They include three of the top-10 U.S. retail banks and a top-30 credit union, the San Diego vendor said. It did not name the clients.
Mitek's software allows consumers to deposit checks as images by photographing them with a mobile phone's camera. It operates on the smartphone platforms offered by Apple Inc., Google Inc. and Research in Motion Ltd. Mitek said its software is available through a number of bank technology vendors.
"It's tremendously satisfying that our strategic vision for Mobile Deposit is now being realized," James B. DeBello, Mitek's president and chief executive, said in a press release.
