Merchant-level salespeople who use POS Portal Inc. as their point of sale equipment distributor now have a mobile-phone tool that enables them to check the availability and wholesale pricing of devices.
The Sacramento, Calif., company's free POS Portal Mobile App, available for Apple Inc.'s iPhone and iPod Touch devices, is exclusively for an independent sales organization or sales agent to use, a representative for POS Portal said.
Sales agents may use the application, which was announced on Jan. 4, to notify merchants of product availability and may order devices directly from within the application using their credit card information.
