BNY Mellon Launches iPad App

BNY Mellon today announced the launch of Workbench Mobile, a new app that lets the firm's institutional clients authorize instructions and access reports and account information from their iPad.

Workbench Mobile is available to registered Workbench users at the App Store through BNY Mellon Connect Mobile. The new app will be accessible by more than 30,000 client users.

The app lets clients of BNY Mellon Asset Servicing view and monitor reports run over the past 10 days (in PDF format); receive updates on industry regulations; monitor a "valuation dashboard" that lets them drill down into account valuation changes and chart by manager, asset type, currency, country or security; see their portfolio exposure to specific counterparties across accounts and asset classes; and authorize cash instructions.

"Plan sponsors and investment managers increasingly are using their mobile devices to stay informed, take action, and be more productive no matter where they happen to be," said Dan Wywoda, head of global product management for BNY Mellon Asset Servicing. "From proprietary systems to web-based platforms and now mobile apps, we're witnessing a revolutionary liberation of data that's transformed how people do business and how industries like ours need to respond."

BNY Mellon Connect Mobile is secured by multi-factor authentication through a combination of a user ID, password, and the mobile device identifier. First time users with existing valid BNY Mellon web-based log-in credentials will be taken through an enrollment process.

New features will be added to Workbench Mobile in the next release and delivered to users' mobile devices through the App Store. Features planned for future release include an iPhone app — designed for smaller devices like iPhones, Droids and newer BlackBerries — and additional content.
