Banno Begins to Bridge Mobile, Desktop Design

Banno (formerly T8 Webware) is going forward with a plan to improve its bank and credit union websites so that they scale to users' devices.

That means that the look of the site changes when a person views it on, say, an iPhone rather than an iPad or a desktop. The new sites also redesign themselves depending on an individual user's clicks and searches, says Banno's chief executive, Wade Arnold.

The Cedar Falls, Iowa, Internet technology company says Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union in Daleville, Ala., is one of the first to go live with the responsively designed site.

"Content rearranges based on past searches," Arnold says. "There are changes based on user preferences, on previous clicks."

Ultimately, he says, banks might be able to cross sell products based on the data collected from these new websites.
