SunTrust Banks (STI) is rolling out mobile remote deposit.

The feature, which allows a customer to deposit a check by snapping a picture of it with a smartphone, is available to customers who install the latest version of the bank's mobile app on their Apple or Android device, SunTrust said Thursday.

The refreshed app also displays deposit history and check images from the last five calendar days, as well as next business day funds availability for deposits completed by 9:00 p.m. EST.

SunTrust offers mobile remote deposit free of charge. Customers can download the app via the Apple iTunes or Google Play stores.
