Zions Selects Tata's Platform for Core-Banking Upgrade

Zions Bancorp in Salt Lake City said Tuesday that it is replacing its core banking platform with its Tata Consultancy Services’ BaNCS technology.

Zions said that the platform upgrade would eventually give the bank a full view of its customers.

The $55 billion-asset Zions said in July that it planned to spend $200 million over the next five to seven years to replace its core loan and deposit systems and upgrade its accounting.

That process began earlier this year and will take place in phases.

 “TCS’ demonstrated commitment and focus during the engagement process and earnestly showed us how we could leverage TCS BaNCS technology to achieve our objectives,” Joe Reilly, Zions’ chief information officer, said a press release,
