Temenos, a Geneva-based core banking software company, announced Wednesday an expanding relationship with Opportunity International, a microfinance provider.
Opportunity, which has worked with Temenos for more than 10 years, will license Temenos's business analytics product, Insight. As part of the deal, the companies said they will work together to build social reporting capabilities into Insight.
Opportunity is the first microfinance institution to license the software.
Opportunity counts more than five million people in more than 20 developing countries as customers of its small business loans, insurance and financial and professional development training. Opportunity loaned $1.1 billion in 2012.
