BNC Bancorp Appoints New CEO, Five Other Executives

BNC Bancorp (BNCN) in High Point, N.C., is remaking its executive staff with a half-dozen new appointments.

Richard Callicutt will become president and chief executive of the $3 billion-asset company following the retirement of W. Swope Montgomery, it said Friday. Montgomery plans to retire on June 11, his 65th birthday, but will remain on the company's board and continue to serve as a consultant.

Callicutt has been chief operating officer of BNC and its bank subsidiary, the Bank of North Carolina, since its inception in 1991. He also served as president of the bank since for the past three years. He is set to become CEO of the bank on June 11, too.

BNC announced five additional executive appointments. David Spencer will become chief financial officer and Ronald Gorczynski will become chief accounting officer at both the company and its bank. Michael Bryan will become the bank's chief information officer. The company also named William Connolly its market president for the southern region of North Carolina and J. Reid Marks its market president for the northern region.

All five will assume their new roles on July 1.

A company spokeswoman was not immediately available for further details.

The Bank of North Carolina, which operates as BNC Bank in South Carolina, has 35 branches in the two states.
