U.S. Bank has added a customer for its remote deposit service for business.
The unit of the $355 billion-asset U.S. Bancorp (USB) said Thursday that Harley Marine, a transportation company based in Seattle, will use On-Site Electronic Deposit Mobile to deposit checks remotely.
The service allows businesses to deposit checks and manage receivables via smartphones and tablet computers that run Apple's iOS or Google's Android mobile operating system.
"On-Site Electronic Deposit Mobile strengthens our remote deposit strategy, and addresses common problems many businesses have with managing their receivables," Jeff Jones, U.S. Bank's head of global treasury management, said in a press release.
"We are a national business with employees operating approximately 100 vessels out of nine different ports," Michelle Moll, Harley Marine's corporate controller added. "With operations on both coasts and in the Gulf of Mexico, having a secure method to deposit checks remotely was vital, providing quicker access to our working capital."
