Two tech providers are tightening ties to help banks modernize their information technology infrastructure.

CSC in Falls Church, Va., and SAP (SAP), the global technology company based in Germany, said Wednesday that CSC will provide systems integration for banks that run SAP's software and that the companies will jointly sell software and systems for the banking industry.

The pact deepens ties between SAP and CSC, which resells SAP services to banks in Europe and has collaborated with SAP on many projects, the companies said. CSC and SAP say they aim to address banks' IT needs via a series of services in consulting, technology and software.

"Banks will now have more choice when modernizing their technology systems," Thomas Hogan, CSC's general manager for global business services, said in a press release.

The companies "have been partnering for 30 years, helping to bring value to customers around the world," Robert Enslin, SAP's president of global customer operations, added. "With this expanded relationship, we look forward to further accelerating our efforts in the banking industry."
