Catskill Hudson in N.Y. Names Naugatuck Valley Director as President

Catskill Hudson Bank in Kingston, N.Y., has hired a former Naugatuck Valley Financial director as president.

The $408 million-asset bank named Orville Aarons named to the post on Tuesday. Aarons, who was 61 in May, will also join the bank's board.

Aarons has worked as a consultant for Catskill Hudson since April, advising it on its balance sheet and future planning. He previously ran a consulting firm, O. Aarons & Co., for more than 20 years. Aarons also previously was the chief lending officer at Community Bank in Bridgeport, Conn.

Mario Martinez remains Catskill Hudson's chairman and chief executive.

Prior to his appointment with Catskill Hudson, Aarons on Friday stepped down as a director for the $501 million-asset Naugatuck Valley Financial in Naugatuck, Conn. Naugatuck Valley has agreed to be acquired by the $4 billion-asset Liberty Bank in Middletown, Conn.

Catskill Hudson Bank operates 12 branches in Sullivan, Orange, Ulster, Dutchess and Saratoga counties in New York.
