MainStreet in Va. Hires Banking Vet as President

MainStreet Bancshares in Fairfax, Va., has hired a veteran Virginia banker as its president.

The $512 million-asset company said in a press release Wednesday that Chris Brockett also joined its board. Brockett succeeded Jeff Dick, who remains the company's chairman and chief executive.

Brockett helped found Virginia Heritage Bank in 2005, eventually becoming its chief financial officer and chief operating officer. When the $950 million-asset bank sold itself to Eagle Bancorp in Bethesda, Md., in November 2014, Brockett was named director of operations at Eagle Bank.

While at Eagle, Brockett had direct oversight of retail banking and deposit and loan operations, information technology, residential lending operations, marketing and facilities. He left the bank in May.
