Fifth Third Promotes HR Exec to Chief Administrative Officer

Fifth Third Bancorp has promoted Teresa Tanner to chief administrative officer, the latest change in executive management at the Cincinnati company.

The $142 billion-asset company said Tanner will assume the new position immediately. She will be responsible for facilities, strategic sourcing and the enterprise program management office. She will also retain oversight of human resources.

Tanner had been chief human resources officer since 2010. She joined Fifth Third in 2004. She began her career at McDonald's.

Tanner succeeds Daniel Poston as CAO, after Poston announced on Tuesday that he will leave Fifth Third to join payments processor Vantiv, which is minority-owned by Fifth Third.

Tanner is the latest executive appointment at Fifth Third, following the company's announcement that Greg Carmichael will succeed Kevin Kabat as chief executive on Nov. 1. Last month, it hired a new chief legal officer and in July it named a new chief operating officer.
