Washington Trust in Rhode Island Names Wealth Management Head

Washington Trust Bancorp (WASH) in Westerly, R.I., has tapped one of its executives to become head of wealth management at its bank.

The $3.1 billion-asset company said Thursday that Mark Gim would take over the post at its bank. Gim, who most recently served as corporate treasurer and head of the company's retail banking division, joined Washington Trust nearly 20 years ago from Citizens Bank.

Gim succeeds Galan Daukas, who resigned from Washington Trust on May 20, the company said in a securities filing Wednesday.

Gim, who will oversee $4.4 billion in wealth management assets under administration, also serves as a lecturer at Boston University's Morin Center for Banking and Financial Law.
