Pacific Service CU, Concord, Calif., participated as a “Big Kid” sponsor for this year’s 31st edition of the annual Valley Children’s Hospital Kids Day event. The fundraiser sells a special Kids Day edition of The Fresno Bee in exchange for a donation to the hospital.

PenFed for Puerto Rico

Tysons, Va.-based Pentagon FCU, along with the Gary Sinise Foundation and American Airlines, hosted a benefit featuring the first-ever concert in Puerto Rico by Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band. The concert raised national awareness of Puerto Rico’s ongoing hurricane recovery needs and delivered a night of relief and entertainment for survivors on the island. Separately, PenFed made a $25,000 donation to the U.S. Army Women’s Foundation.

Welcome to the shark tank

SECU Maryland, Linthicum, Md., participated in the Pitch Dingman Competition, the University of Maryland’s business competition which awarded nearly $30,000 in seed funding to top student entrepreneurs in a “Shark Tank”-style pitch session. In addition to co-sponsoring the competition, SECU took part in the judging.

Silent auction makes a big impact

Capitola, Calif.-based Bay FCU’s annual silent auction generated $12,001 for LEO’s Haven and the Chanticleer Park Neighbors Association. The association is working to build an inclusive playground called LEO’s Haven at Chanticleer County Park, the county’s first inclusive playground for children of all abilities.

Fitchburg, Mass.-based IC Federal Credit Union expanded into the Marlborough area. The branch is located in the new Apex Entertainment Complex on Route 20, has modern technology and will allow IC to serve thousands of its members in the area.
