Credit Union of Southern California in Anaheim paid a visit to a local elementary school with $18,000 worth of gifts to give out to students, staff and faculty. Fifty-five of Santa's "elves" from the institution spent their personal time purchasing the 1,200 gifts.

A taste for toys

Hundreds of toys were donated by LBS Financial Credit Union in Long Beach, Calif., to the ChildNet organization as part of the institution's annual holiday breakfast. About 200 LBS employees attended the breakfast.

Navy Federal Credit Union in Vienna, Va., collected toy donations as a corporate sponsor of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots toy drive. Over 19,000 toys were collected in the 2018 effort.

Angel Tree program

Garden City Park, N.Y.-based Sperry Federal Credit Union donated new toys and clothes for 25 children in need through the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program. The children all live in a nearby New York neighborhood.

Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Genisys Credit Union supported the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Coats for the Cold. Each Genisys branch doubled as a drop off site for Coats for the Cold throughout November and collected thousands of coats.

Twenty-two children are the recipients of clothing thanks to Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s annual Giving Tree Program. The institution, which is based on Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts, sets up the program at the base exchange during the holiday season where it decorates the tree with various ornaments.

One member of Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union in St. Paul, Minn., received a greeting from Santa and a check for $1,000. The member had won the statewide holiday drawing that Affinity offers for special savers.
