CU brings new 24-hour hotline
A 24-hour crisis support center geared toward runaway, homeless and street youth is now open thanks to a partnership between Wind Youth Services and Sacramento, Calif.-based Golden 1 Credit Union.
Furry friends find new home
San Diego-based Mission FCU teamed with NBC San Diego, Telemundo and the San Diego Humane Society for "Clear the Shelters," a community-driven pet adoption drive that helped find loving homes for more than 2,300 animals in need.
Expanding financial literacy
Pasadena, Calif.-based Wescom Central Credit Union is set to become the official banking sponsor for the UCLA community thanks to a multi-year $38 million partnership between UCLA and the credit union.
New wheels
Battle Creek, Mich.-based Blue Ox CU donated $500 to Goodwill Industries of Central Michigan’s Heartland Wheels to Work program. Donations go toward providing affordable transportation to those in need.
Bringing resources to the D.R.
In 2017, representatives of LiFE CU visited the Dominican Republic on a mission trip where the CU employees installed filtration devices and donated reading glasses to 72 village residents.

TruMark Financial Credit Union celebrated the opening of a new location, marking its 23rd branch within the five-county Philly region for the Fort Washington, Pa.-based institution.

Arlington-based Texas Trust Credit Union received a Dora Maxwell Award from the Cornerstone Credit Union league in recognition of successfully increasing employee volunteerism.
Gala, golf classic bring in more than $500,000
Two events hosted by Virginia Beach, Va.-based Chartway Federal CU raised over $500,000 for children facing hardship and illness in the 13th annual We Promise Foundation Gala and 20th annual Charity Golf Classic.

Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Peach State FCU celebrated the grand opening of its 22nd branch in LaFayette, Ga.
A special donation for Special Olympics athletes
Corporate Central CU, a Southfield, Mich.-based institution, raised over $10,000 for Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes.
More accolades
The Cornerstone Credit Union League held its annual Leadership Conference and Expo in San Antonio, Texas, where Tarrant County CU accepted the Desjardins Youth Financial Education and Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service awards.
