Junior ROTC donation
Hanscom FCU, Hanscom AFB, Mass., donated $5,000 to the cadets on Lowell High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC Red Raider Drill Team to help cover travel expenses to Dayton, Ohio, for the Air Force JROTC Drill Nationals. The school’s Armed team placed first in the USA.

Live from Lake Jackson, it's...the credit union!
TDECU hosted its 63rd annual membership meeting by broadcasting live from its headquarters in Lake Jackson, Texas, to the other major regions it serves: Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and Victoria. In total, nearly 1,100 members attended the event across the four locations, plus 170 employees were in attendance.
CUNA Council honors
Redwood CU, Santa Rosa, Calif., received four Diamond Awards at the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council conference: in membership marketing, outdoor advertising, point-of-sale display, and video.
Big winner
Firefly CU, Burnsville, Minn., named Shah Hasan the CU’s ScoreBig Sweepstakes first place winner. ScoreCard Rewards is Firefly’s cardholder rewards program. Cardholders were automatically entered and gained an additional entry for each debit card purchase.

New Hampshire Gov. Christopher Sununu commended Service CU for its community-driven vision during SCU’s 61st annual meeting, held at its headquarters in Portsmouth, N.H.
CU on the radio
Members 1st CU, Redding, Calif., raised $3,000 for Make-A-Wish in the foundation’s annual fundraising radiothon. Donations from staff and members exceeded the goal by $1,000.
VISA honors MSUFCU
Michigan State University FCU, East Lansing, Mich., won the Overall Portfolio Excellence category in the Visa Debit Processing Services Client Achievement Awards. MSUFCU partnered with Visa DPS to add protection and convenience to its suite of fraud monitoring services with Visa Card Lock and Mobile Location Confirmation.
'Party with a Purpose'
Brian Sherrick, president/CEO of Ideal CU, Woodbury, Minn., and his wife Terrie, hosted a “Party with a Purpose” fundraiser at their home to benefit the White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf. The event drew 54 of the Sherrick’s family and friends and helped raise more than $5,000.
Scholarships awarded
San Antonio-based Air Force FCU awarded scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each to four graduating high school seniors at AAFCU’s Annual Meeting.
Education donation
Educational Systems FCU, Greenbelt, Md., participated in Read Across America. Employees visited local elementary schools to read to students, and the CU donated a gift basket to each school visited. The basket includes a set of Dr. Seuss's books, bookmarks and a $100 Visa gift card to be used for purchasing classroom supplies.
New HQ
Deseret First CU moved its base of operations to a new facility in West Valley City, Utah. The corporate office is centrally located to the credit union’s 11 branches, and now houses administrative and support functions for the organization.
