AUSTIN, Texas – A+ FCU is offering Austin Community College students the chance to win a $2,500 grand prize in its inaugural Riverbat Savings Challenge, which it said is the nation’s first community college savings contest.
Ten outgoing students will be selected to participate in the savings contest from October 2012 to March 2013. Contestants will attend workshops, coffee chats, meet with certified A+ FCU financial guides, contribute to a Riverbat Savings Challenge blog, while they work toward their financial goals.
At the end of the contest, judges from the credit union will select the winners.
This is the fifth savings challenge developed and run by the $1-billion credit union and the first for college students. The previous challenges were among Austin area families and two local high schools.
