With Earth Day last weekend and Arbor Day this week, Coastal FCU here is urging members to switch to e-statements, saying the move will save 42 tons of paper annually.
The credit union currently has 23,000 members using e-statements, and said that if the remainder of its 154,000 members did the same they could help save approximately 1,200 trees annually. "It goes beyond being environmentally responsible and cost-conscious," the credit union said. "Coastal's membership is highly tech-savvy, and e-statements provide a highly responsive way to deliver information to them... More than 75% percent of Coastal members manage their accounts online."
