FREMONT, Calif. – Alliance CU passed out 500 free $1 bills last Wednesday at the local BART station during the morning rush hour, as part of its campaign to highlight the credit union’s local support for businesses and the community.

Attached to each bill was a stick saying, “Make a Difference-and spend this at your favorite local business.”
Last week’s cash give-away follows a similar initiative in September when the credit union bought lunch for 35 diners at a local Indian restaurant. One of the credit union’s “Make A Difference team” appeared out the blue when it was time to pay the check and told the diners that lunch was on the credit union.
