HONOLULU – Aloha Pacific FCU last week said it has entered the credit card rewards competition with a new program that competes with bank-issued cards.
The credit union’s KalaPoints is a free rewards program that allows members to earn one point for every $1 retail purchase on credit cards and one point for every $2 purchase on debit cards.
The credit union offers VISA check cards and VISA Classic and Gold credit cards. The $430 million credit union, formerly known as Honolulu City & County Employees FCU, introduced a Kala Rewards checking account earlier this year that pays up to 5%.
