TEXAS CITY, Texas – Amoco FCU is the latest credit union to launch a savings contest, offering four families a chance to win up to $20,000.

As part of the credit union’s "Earn or Burn" contest, the families will compete in a reality show which will feature them trying to rebuild their savings, curtail consumption and lower spending.
The four contestants will be revealed Feb. 9 on the local KHOU-TV/Great Day Houston show, which will follow them for the 10-month contest.
Members can apply to be one of the four families online at www.earnorburn2009.com until Dec. 31, 2008. The site will also allow other members to follow the four families’ progress and offer financial tips that can be implemented in their own lives.
