Another Colorado Merger Helps Remake Local CU Landscape

BOULDER, Colo. – Premier Members CU and Colorado United CU and have agreed to combine, the latest in-state merger creating a larger credit union.

The combination will create a credit union with more than $400 million in assets, 11 branches and over 40,000 members. Premier Members, a $315 million credit union, will be the surviving entity. The merger will help Premier Members, chartered in 1966 as an IBM employees credit union, to expand into northern Denver.

Colorado United was founded in 1952 as the Adams County School District's credit union and has grown to $72 million in assets with about 10,000 members.

It follows mergers over the last few years of Westerra CU and Jeffco CU; Ent FCU and USAlliance FCU; Bellco CU and Great American Community CU and Public Service CU and Norlarco CU.
