The $350 million credit union will celebrate its 30th birthday with a new name, Amplify. That’s right, just Amplify.

Its new slogan will be, ‘Amplify Go Beyond Banking.’ The new branding campaign will include the opening of two new branches, in Red Rock and La Frontera, making a total of four branches.

The re-branding comes two weeks after Think FCU, named for the IBM Thinkpad laptop and once named IBM Mid-America Employees FCU, announced it is converting to a mutual savings bank.

In recent years, IBM credit unions have changed their names to Meriwest CU, Coastal FCU and Visions FCU, among others, to reflect their membership diversification. After today there will only be three credit unions left with IBM in their names, IBM Southeast Employees FCU, IBM Metro Employees FCU and IBM Pittsburgh FCU, from what was once more than 20 IBM credit unions.
