CAPITOLA, Calif. – Bay FCU rolled out a new loan program intended to help local residents affected by the March 24 and 26 floods that swept through Capitola Village, and the tsunami waves that hit the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor on March 11.
Bay Fed’s Emergency Loan Assistance program will offer interest-free personal loans of up to $5,000 to local residents experiencing a financial hardship related to property damage caused by recent natural disasters.
“The floodwaters in Capitola and tsunami waves in the Santa Cruz harbor have left people struggling to make ends meet,” said Carrie Birkhofer, president of $610 million credit union. “Our Emergency Loan Assistance program has been established to help people affected by these catastrophic events so they can rebuild their homes and lives.”
